Tulsa, 8/2/2023 – The Tulsa Youth Rowing Association (TYRA) is delighted to announce the receipt of a generous $5,000 grant from The Opportunity Project of Tulsa as part of the Expanded Learning Initiative to support Tulsa Public School students’ involvement in the competitive rowing program. This grant marks a significant milestone in TYRA’s mission to promote youth development through the sport of rowing. It demonstrates the continued commitment of The Opportunity Project to fostering educational opportunities for the youth of our community.
The grant from The Opportunity Project will provide invaluable support to enable more Tulsa Public School students to experience the transformative power of rowing. By participating in TYRA’s competitive rowing program, these students can access a unique and enriching extracurricular activity that encourages teamwork, discipline, and personal growth.

The Opportunity Project’s commitment to educational initiatives has provided opportunities for underserved youth and fostered a love for learning outside the traditional classroom setting. By partnering with TYRA, The Opportunity Project continues to make a tangible difference in the lives of Tulsa Public School students, empowering them to develop essential life skills through the sport of rowing.
