This past weekend the Tulsa Youth Rowing Association competed at the Central Youth Rowing Championships. Our team represented Tulsa well earning places in the finals in two events. The U-17 Womens Youth Single and the Womens Youth 2nd Double.

Emma Reynolds (Owasso), rowed to a fifth place finish in the U17 – Women’s Youth Singles.

Reynolds said of her efforts – “This weekend I rowed in my first single’s race at USRowing Central Youth Championship. I had only started practicing in a single the week before and I was very nervous. I was told to leave it all on the water, and did my best to do so. I made it to the Finals.  In my Finals race, I had a bad start. I caught up to the pack and then caught a crab at 150m, losing 4th place by 1 second, really showing that every stroke matters”.

The team was also well represented by Anna Tharakan (Jenks) and Anikah Rahman (Jenks) who placed sixth in the final of the Womens 2nd double.

The club is hosting four week long summer camps in June and July. Registration is now open and more information can be found at this link. The summer camps are specifically geared toward student-athletes who are beginners.
