Tulsa Rowing Club Rows To Ninth In The Nation

Team Records Historical Best

Oak Ridge, TN – The Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors earned a 9th place finish at the USRowing Youth Nationals and recorded a historical best for the club in the process. The crew of Katie Grantham (Booker T. Washington), Anne Philpot (Regent), Victoria Richter (Cascia Hall), Emily Hyde (Holland Hall), Madison Davidson (Jenks) and reserve Aleks Stogsdill (Broken Arrow) rowed into the history books recording the best finish that Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors has achieved at this level of competition. The crew rowed in fifth place for most of the race yet made a strong move in the last 750 meters of the race to move into 3rd place by the finish line in the B final and record a 9th place overall at Youth Nationals.

This is an exciting development for Tulsa Rowing Club and shows how far it has come in recent years. The crew was coached by James Simmons, Micah Hartwell and Mollie Morehead.

“Our ladies rowed their hearts out to the best finish in TRCJ history. I’m so proud of what these ladies accomplished. Tulsa Rowing Club may be small but we’ve proven we’re mighty. Look for for more to come in the upcoming season,” said Varsity Coach Micah Hartwell.

The Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors are currently running summer camps for those 7th-12th grade athletes that are looking for a challenge this June. For more information, please visit the club website at www.tulsarowing.org/juniors or contact head coach Neil Bergenroth on coachb@tulsarowing.org
