Route 66 Regatta on April 20th Transforms to an Invitational For 2013

The Tulsa Rowing Club will again host the spring Route 66 Regatta rowing competition on the Verdigris River in Catoosa, but this year as an Invitational race.  Due to continued low water levels on the Arkansas River, the April 20 event will be held on the nearby Verdigris River in Catoosa.  The Verdigris River venue is best suited to four racing lanes, and four regional rowing clubs have been invited.  Teams from Dallas, Oklahoma City, Wichita, and the home Tulsa Rowing Club will compete on the 1250 meter course of fast water.  The Route 66 Bridge will again serve as the historic finish line.

Tulsa Rowing Club is excited to partner with the City of Catoosa and The University of Tulsa for this event. The race is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2013 and will take place at Rogers Point Park in Catoosa, scenic home of The University of Tulsa Women’s Rowing team.
