With Appreciation: Coach Mollie Morehead

I hope that this message finds you well and rested and ready for another season. Summer is a time of transition and personal reflection and I have certainly enjoyed some time away.

With that said and along those lines, it is with a heavy heart that I regret to inform you that Coach Mollie Morehead (a.k.a Coach Mo) will be stepping down as novice assistant coach at this time. After a long period of reflection, Coach Mo has decided that given the unpredictability of her working day at St. Francis she will not be able to give her full attention and effort to coaching and serving our athletes.

Mollie came to the program in spring of 2012. She had experience rowing at the college level after a period of rowing with the OU club team. In a short time, Mollie came to understand our program and was accepted by the team. During her time at the program, Mollie inspired many and had a wealth of nutritional knowledge to impart to others. This past season Coach Mo’s novice crews were successful throughout the season, with the campaign resulting in a regional title at Central Districts, and gold/silver medal finishes at the Route 66 regatta.

On a personal note, I have very much enjoyed working with Coach Mo. I have found her to be a great communicator and very professional to work with. I will miss her collegiality, collaboration and support very much.

I know that you will be joining me to thank Coach Mo for her time of service during her tenure as coach for TRCJ and now TYRA. In addition, we wish her the best as she pursues other avenues in life.

This might be farewell for now, but certainly not goodbye. Coach Mo has offered her help if we need it in a pinch.

Thank you coach for a job well done! We appreciate and are grateful for your service to our program.

Coach Neil Bergenroth
