On Saturday, February 1st, 2020 the Tulsa Youth Rowing Association competed in the SouthWest Ergometer Amateur Tournament held in Dallas, TX. The organization came away from the event winning three silver medals against a very competitive field of clubs.

This indoor rowing event features events for different age and weight categories. Individual athletes race two thousand meters on Concept2 rowing machines and try to record the fastest time possible in their age and experience categories.

Emma Reynolds (Owasso) improving upon her 10th place finish in last year’s event, won the silver medal in the Women Junior event in a time of 7:21. In the women’s junior coxswain event, Hallie McMahan placed 2nd in a personal best time of 8:44.0. Finally, Logan Lewellen (Jenks) rowed to a 2nd place finish in the Men’s High School Freshman Category recording a personal best time of 7:01.1.

“I was really looking forward to this race.  I got to watch my teammates put in great work and lots of PR’s before my race.  They set the bar high! The support from them really helps you push through the pain!  Looking forward to next year.” said Reynolds of the team’s efforts.
