TULSA OK – The Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors Team will offer a 2-week Basic Training to recruit 8th grade and high school age athletes interested in learning how to row in racing shells.  Lessons will be held TU Indoor Rowing Tank, The Tulsa Rowing Club Boathouse. Learn To Row sessions run Monday, Jan 27th through Friday, Feb 7th from 4:30PM to 6:30PM.  The learn to row will be offered at $25 registration fee per athlete. Interested participants must enroll on the club website and complete a swim test at a local YMCA. Required enrollment forms and information about the juniors program can be found at www.okrowing.org

Girls Varsity Four Placing 2nd At Regionals 2012. The crew went on to place 9th in the nation at nationals.

Rowing is a sport that offers the opportunity to earn a college scholarship. Statistics released indicate that female junior rowers have a 1 in 2 chance at a scholarship while male junior rowers have a 1 in 6 chance at a scholarship. In addition to this, the benefits of a regular exercise program has been to shown the help with stress levels and leads to higher levels of academic performance. The club currently has around 70 athletes that participate in the 7th and 8th grade gROWth program and the 8th through 12th grade competitive program.
