Tulsa Rowers Continue Ultra Distance World Record Setting Rows

Tulsa, OK – Brock Turner accompanied by Regent High School senior Anne Philpot broke four world records this past weekend. The rowers started around noon on Saturday 18th of February and rowed for 24 hours with the goal of recording as many meters as possible in that time. Twenty four hours later the pair had broken the mixed tandem world record distances for the 24-hour row and the longest continual row for a mixed pair of rowers in the nineteen and under age category. In addition to this, Philpot now holds two more ultra distance world records for her age and weight category.

Brock Turner is no stranger to successfully attempting to break ultra distance world records for rowing. Turner set two world records three weeks ago for longest continual row and tandem longest continual row with Union Senior Alex Workman.

Philpot’s effort is the first time a high school female from the club has attempted to break a world record. Philpot rowed a total of 182,553 meters in the span of 24 hours. The previous record holder rowed 140,000 meters. Philpot now holds the world records for longest distance rowed in 24 hours and also the longest continual row for her age category.

“My whole body hurts like crazy. But it was so worth it! I’m glad I got this opportunity!” said Philpot of her effort.

The complete list of world records now held by Philpot follows:

Individual Heavyweight Woman 19 & Under – 24 hr distance row
Individual Heavyweight Woman 19 & Under – Longest continual row

Turner and Philpot are joint holders for these records:

Tandem Heavyweight Mixed 19 & Under – 24 hr row
