Farewell to Coach Sara Younger

As some of you may be aware, Coach Sara Younger is leaving the program this holiday season. Coach Younger has brought her passion for the sport to our program and many girls have benefited from her experience. In addition, Sara has also shown great growth and development in her role as a coach and mentor.

In addition to bringing her enthusiasm and perspective to the girl’s novice team, Sara also managed to keep up with her own training and act as a role model for her athletes. As a result, Sara never gave her athletes workouts that she was not prepared to do.

For those of you that have worked with Coach Younger, I think that you will agree that she has been a demanding yet nurturing presence in our boathouse. Sara knew when to be tough and taught her rowers that the structure an athlete applies to training can serve as a good structure for life in general.

We will miss Sara, but we wish her good luck and happy travels as her journey continues.

Thank you, Coach Younger for all of your hard work and dedication to Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors over the last three and a half years.

Sara, may the winds be light and the waters flat as you continue down the river wherever it may take you.

With Gratitude,

Coach Neil Bergenroth

Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors.
